A very sweet amber wine …

The territory on which Villa Salvador is located, is now known, not only for its natural beauty, but also for some typical products, among which Fregona Torchiato stands out.

It is a liqueur wine, made from dried grapes, pressed during the Easter week (this is also called “Vin Santo”).

From 100 kilos of grapes, about 20 liters of passito wine are obtained. It is golden in color, with hints of acacia or lime honey, dried fruit and hints of vanilla; in the mouth you find a perfect balance between the alcoholic component (15% -16%), the acid and the sugar components, obtaining that “sweet with bitterish aftertaste” effect which is its main distinctive element.

It requires a minimum aging of 24 months, of which at least 5 in the bottle, starting from the 1st of November of the year of harvest.

It should be served at a temperature of 10-12 °.

It is a rare wine, for meditation, to be served with dry almond based pastries, but it can also accompany more complex foods such as blue cheese.
